Built from a Love of Wind and Water
Phi Kite School began with one rider, one motorbike and a belief that My Hoa Lagoon was something special.
Phi started kitesurfing in Mui Ne in 2002, when the sport was still new to Vietnam. After leaving fishing to work on the beach, he became one of the area’s early local riders and began teaching in 2005, later qualifying as an IKO instructor.
Discovering My Hoa
In 2009, Phi travelled north along the coast by motorbike and reached My Hoa Lagoon for the first time.
He found wide open water, strong wind, flat conditions inside the reef and waves beyond it—the kind of place he had always imagined building a kite school.
The following season, he began bringing riders from Mui Ne to experience the lagoon. In 2013, he purchased land beside the water and began turning that original dream into Phi Kite School.
From Kite School to Lagoon Resort
What started as a simple kite base has grown into a complete place to stay, ride and enjoy life beside the lagoon.
Today, Phi Kite School brings together newly renovated accommodation, professional kite lessons, equipment rental, membership and storage, a restaurant and bar, sauna and ice bath, and an on-site shop as the official Duotone distributor for Vietnam.
Through every stage of its development, the heart of Phi Kite School has remained the same: friendly local knowledge, a shared passion for kitesurfing and a relaxed community built around My Hoa Lagoon.
